McGonagall is a very strict witch, and very serious about Transfiguration. She's extremely clever, and not very fond of Trelawney. She seems to be one of Dumbledore's chief confidents (the other being Snape) and has a somewhat dry sense of humor.

The Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is also a werewolf. He's reviled for this, no matter that he's a kind soul. Given that he is a Lonely One, he's accustomed to it.

Ex-Azkaban prisoner and convict, he's Harry's godfather. He's also an unregistered animagus. He transforms into a rather large black dog. It's a miracle that's he sane after 12 years in Azkaban.

*shakes his head* Ah, I must sound ridiculous. Never mind. *casts one last glare at Snape before returning his wand to the folds of his cape* I'd best be going. *peers over her spectacles* Really, Severus. You hold such petty grudges. *turns to Black* And the same for you. Now, must I give you deten-- Oh, nevermind. *to herself* I've been dealing with the Weasleys far too much… *sneers at the tall dark-haired man while still tightly gripping his wand inside his robes* No, Minerva... there shall be no trouble... *says under his breath, eyes fixated on Black* ...at least none _today_, I daresay.... *decides to go back to his isolated corner and resume reading the latest issue of Dark Arts Weekly* *heads into lounge, mumbling to herself* Honestly, why must the Weasley twins be in MY house… *spots Black, Snape, Dumbledore and Trelawney* Oh, my. I suppose we have trouble on our hands… *sharply* Snape, there will be none of that! Black is here for a reason. I'm *most* anxious to hear about what that is. Some things never change, do they Black..? *gets up and reaches inside his robes for his wand* *glances at Dumbledore, then proceeds to resume the shape of a tall man with unkempt black hair* It wouldn't do you any good to throw insults Snape, when other things could be coming your way... *glares at the other man and pulls out his wand* Thank you for you advice, Snape. I can't imagine what we would do without you. I think I can manage to handle a single dog, however. *finishes off his hot chocolate and glances at the dog curled up at his feet* Well? What is it that you want, boy? *strolls into the room and takes a look around* *says in a drawling, oily voice* My dear headmaster, I'd advice you to keep away from that filthy mutt... You wouldn't want to catch its fleas... *glares at the shaggy black dog while taking his seat in the furthest, most isolated corner of the room* *a rather large black dog wanders into the teacher's lounge and looks expectantly at Dumbledore before lying down at his feet* *looks reproachfully at Dumbledore, her eyes magnified by her huge glasses* When one posesses the power of the Inner Eye, one always knows when someone's hiding something... *her voice sounds less misty* But then again, I'm sure you're fine, Headmaster. *packs up her cards* I know I usually don't come down to the Teacher's Lounge often, but something just told me that I will meet someone important here tonight. So if you don't mind Headmaster, I'll be waiting for them in the chair by the fireplace. *seldom used sarcasm creeps into her voice* Please, do tell me when my tarot card shuffling is too loud, I wouldn't want to intrude on your... er... pleasant evening. Ah.. no, Sibyll, I'm fine. Is there any particular reason you have graced us with your physical presence? *wryness can be heard dripping in his voice* *emerges from the shadows and starts talking in her mistiest voice* Ahhh... Or perhaps tell you where your problems stem from? *swiftly sits down next to him and starts dealing out her package of Tarot cards she always keeps nearby* *ambles into the room, spots his favourite couch and sits down, sipping his hot chocolate; a raven sitting on the arm of it caws* I do hope you aren't going to be any trouble.
